Progress on GeoCODE

15-11-2004 | Categories: — by Phrixus

Okay so I have been researching and learning about the PHP GD library. I have managed to make a start on my mapping system with a lot of help from various sources on the net and my trusty PHP book. If you are interested in my prototype system have a look here… comments welcome! I have dubbed it GeoCODE but that will need to be reviewed in the future when I get some inspiration!

that seems pretty cool. I don’t know if you’re thinking about this already, but one thing you might need to consider is translating physical lat & long to the lat and long on the map. 0,0 is currently shown as being near Greenland.

Maybe if you’re planning this as a TravelLog, clicking on a location without a current entry would provide you with a post form with the lat&long already entered?
